The Malefic Grasp entry is not an actual break point of any kind - my guess is that's a remnant from a time during beta when MG gained ticks with haste, which it no longer does.

Thanks, didn't realise that MG was no longer influenced by Haste. Does the same apply to Drain Soul?

With regard to my Haste values then what I should be aiming for, when not in a Raid, would be:
3043 to gain an extra 2 x Agony ticks, 1 x UA tick and 1 x Corruption tick when in the Raid (due to the 5% Spell haste buff)
or (if acheivable without crazy-gimp reforging)
4717 to squeeze out an extra Corruption tick, when under the influence of the Raid Spell Haste buff.

For non-goblin classes, the two most popular breakpoints are 4198 and 4717 haste rating.

The first one gives you extra ticks for UA and corruption during bloodlust and raid haste, the second gives you the same but an extra corruption tick with raid haste and no bloodlust.

You want to get either one of these with no buffs or procs. Sit outside of a raid, clear any buffs and mouse over your haste rating. Any raid haste buffs, procs, or bloodlust will ADD to this rating. These are the minimum numbers you need for those extra ticks when UNDER those effects.

To figure out which rating will work for you, it's best to sim your character with the different reforging options. Personally, I use 4198 rating, 4500 hit rating, and everything else into mastery. I'll probably jump to 4717 rating when I get 485 average ilevel...but again, I'll sim it first to see the DPS gains or losses.

6637 Haste (20.6% fully raid buffed) is your next target after 4717. This gives you an extra tick of Unstable Affliction, another tick of Agony, and another tick of Agony & Corruption when under Bloodlust.

You might find Haste & Mastery very close in value between 4717 and 6637, which is why its always best to sim your own stat weights.

Are there haste break points for Destro and Demonology?

For demo I'm guessing 4198 since it also has corruption, but crit has a higher stat weight that I think stacking any haste would be a bad idea.

First post, hope this question is simple and not stupid: Does the 2-piece bonus of our Sha Skin set affect the metamorphosis versions of shadow bolt and corruption?

According to simc source code (so i guess it was verified), it does apply to Touch of Chaos.

The set tooltip seems to be updated in 5.1

Quick question - Although it may be the wrong forum, sorry if it is >.<

Nameplates overlapping, do you know a way to fix this? I am using TidyPlates but can't seem to locate any such option.

It's in Blizzard's ui options - interface > names > unit nameplates > nameplate motion type.

Hello, I have been reading up on several websites in regards to preferred warlock dps specs and so far have come to the conclusion that affliction is the preferred raid spec.
Is this purely down to it having a higher dps cap than destro and demo. Or do I just feel like the only person who still wants to play demo?
My identity crisis seems to stem from being unsure what to stat for as it seems that haste, mastery and crit are all viable stats for a demo lock and in comparison to afflic locks my dps doesn't seem to compare.

The current simcraft numbers assume best in slot gear and perfect rotations. The numbers are close enough that each spec is pretty darn good.

If you want to know what kind of damage you can do in demo or aff, run simcraft on your own character and set the options to be a bit more realistic.

Furthermore, the various fights in the current tier favor one spec over another and vice versa, it's a matter of understanding the strengths weaknesses of each spec and knowing the fights that play to those strengths.

Hello fellow warlocks!

Situation: so i got few upgrades after this nights raid and wanted to sim what would be best to go for - mastery or haste, tried diferent versions of gear setups and it seem that haste does a lot better than mastery. I started out with 90101 dps when mastery gemmed, reforged, and ended up 90752 dps when reforged everyhting into haste and reforged aswell. The question is - what am I missing here?shouldn`t mastery be better after 4717 haste rating?or even after 6637 haste rating? The both t14N and t14H versions of simcraft goes for 5130 haste rating altho there is no specifical haste breakpoint for it.

Question: How comes haste pulls ahead of mastery?

P.S.
The only thing that comes to my mind is dps is bigger due to doomguard doing more dmg with more haste.

Quick math question:
Assuming the 5% haste buff as well as heroism/bloodlust is up,
how much haste rating does a destro warlock need for incinerate casting time to be 1.0 sec with and without backdraft?

Yes i know i shouldn't gear for that high haste, consider it an academical question

Your DoT's snapshot your stats upon application so it would update when applied.
