Are there differences in buffs that we should be asking for the imp, felhunter, succubus, felguard, and doomguard?

Does Quartz (the addon) still give you a dps boost or did that change when they fixed the /stopcasting stuff? As affliction, if it matters.

Only in pally buffs. And pallypower addon will assign your melee pets based on warrior buffs and caster pets based on your buffs, so it shouldn't be a worry.
You might have to ask for wisdom for your melee pets when there are more than 2 pallies, as the pally in charge may not realize that pets will get whatever the warrior is given and wisdom is clearly not useful for the warriors themselves.

Have you actually ever seen your pet go oom in a raid setting without wisdom? I know I haven't at least.

Simple question I think but I am unsure of the answer. Been doing heroics/10man as a Meta/Ruin spec because I don't even have a lot of heroic gear yet. Felguard is definitely nice for farming and doing dailies etc also but when can I switch to affliction and see an increase in dps to offset the loss of SP and pet damage?

I was doing more DPS as soon as I switched to affliction after a week or so of heroics, even with the growing pains of the vastly more complicated aff cycle (I had been destro since release). I think I had around 1800 or so SP self buffed at the time, can't recall the particulars as far as haste/crit. There will be a little pucker factor when you see how much crit and SP you lose as soon as you switch, but it'll pass soon as you settle in.

Im a little baffled as to how Drain Soul works when using it when the mob is below 25%, im currently using Dotimer and DrainSoulTimer.
"Drain Soul (same as Shadow Bolt when the target is below 25% hp)"
So basically instead of casting Sb you just use Drain Soul and reaplly all dots as soon as they finish?
Does Drain Soul eat any of your dots or do anything to them in any way?
"A good way is to just reapply dots and haunt as soon as there is more than one of them fading off."
So lets say im using Drainsoul and Haunt is about to fade off but my other spells have 8 seconds left, do i stop and reapply Haunt or continue to Drainsoul? I was thinking of just reapplying the dot as soon as it is fading eithen if im using Drainsoul.
Im very very new to Affliction and how it works so ive read both the threads on here many times.
Thanks.

In this case, you would reapply Haunt and then use Drain Soul again until the next dot falls off. However, if your rotation is working properly, you should be reapplying Haunt and UA at the same time. Here is a typical scenario for <25% dps:
You notice boss goes to 25%, you immediately check dots for up-time remaining--> If any are <= 2sec, reapply; if not cast DS
-Haunt/SE has 3sec remaining (UA maybe 4 sec) --> recast Haunt then UA
-CoA dropps off --> recast
-Siphon Life drops off --> recast
It is only a minor dps increase to keep re-applying Immolate, so leaving it off may not be noticeable. I usually don't use it <25%.

41/30 questions...
Metagem: I use +25 SD / minor run -- I like the run! (obviously). Is Chaotic Skyflare unquestionably better?
Pet: Does Doomguard beat Felguard?
Thanks.

Quick question as I don't have the opportunity to test this ingame: is it worth it not to cast Immolate with a conflagrate (glyphed)build, provided another warlock in the raid has one on the boss ?
Was thinking of this to achieve a SB/Conf/Inci/Inci etc rotation using the Immolate of the second warlock of the raid who is Affli specced.
Incidentally yes I'm thinking of a 3.1 Demonology build using SB, conflag, Incinerate/soulfire (depending on whether casting/not casting Immolate returns)

Conflag only works on your own Immolate, despite the default UI's Cooldown Timer showing the spell available without.

Hi all, I'm 0/53/18 meta/ruin.
Is it better to use the Firestone or the Spellstone in raid? For what I know, the Spellstone should be better due to the fact that crit scale worste than haste.
Am I right?

Yes, cast drain soul when the boss is at or below 25%.
Drain soul won't affect any dots in any way. Since you'll have soul siphon talented, you'll want to maintain all your dots on the target though.
Yes, always reapply haunt. You should strive for 100% haunt uptime. Don't clip your dots otherwise, that's what the drainsoultimer addon is for. Listen for the DS ticks, and just reapply dots after each DS tick as needed. In other words, treat DS as a series of shadow bolts.

This is an easy one to answer just by using the Spreadsheet.
In my Meta/Ruin spec with my gear, Potion of Speed is worth 17.39 dps, and Potion of Wild Magic is worth 13.82.
Haste is much better than Crit in just about every way in terms of individual DPS.

Remember that the spreadsheet cannot compute that you would use the potion of wild magic during heroism, amplifying the benefit of it. The potion of speed also may cause you to become soft haste-capped if you have enough passive haste on your gear. It all depends on the individual's gear though.

Hello all,
Simple question, with the new dual talent specs allowed in 3.1 I am looking at having a PVE and PVP spec.
I have never done that much PVP in the past.
With this in mind I have been following the 3.1 PVE max DPS specs closely to decide my PVE spec.
I can't seem to find a thread on PVP specs though, could you please either help recommend a PVP build for 3.1 or point me in the direction of a good PVP thread?
many thanks
J

Apologies if this have been answered before, but does someone know how to set MSBT up to play a sound each time Drain Soul ticks?
