Warlocks don't really use Rawr for DPS calculations. We use either Duffry's spreadsheet, or Optigear (still under development), or, ideally, Simcraft. There is a lot of information about those tools in this forum.

I come with a few pretty simple questions that i've been tying to figure out myself but I come here for some answers.
1. Which food buff should I be using to maximize my dps? I have been using the haste food to give me a nice hit % at 20%. But overall im not sure which is better haste or sd.
2. Secondly my rotation is immo, conf, cod/coa, cb, inc, inc, inc ect... during my rotation i refresh immo with around 2-3 secs left for a refresher trying to fit in as many inc as i can and popping off conf and cb as well as trinkets at proper times when they are all of cd. But I only seem to be doing around 4.6k dps when other equally and less geared locks are doing a ton more dps then I. I've been doing research and tweaking with specs and I dont understand what im doing wrong. I keep LT up keep my imp alive and I'm lost for answers here. Anyone have any input?

I think refreshing immolate with so much time left is what could be causing your DPS to stay so low. I would much rather be half a second late on immolate than casting it with 3 second left on the boss. That is costing you at least one or two incinerates per immolate, and you're not getting the full effect out of each immolate you cast.
Immolate has one of our highest damage per execute times, and you're reducing that number with your current strategy. I would start there.

Stuck with Healthstone duty
Have just recently started playing my warlock again. So its back to the study board.
I hope this question fits within the guidelines of this thread.
Being the only regular warlock in our raiding group I have been asked to spec into the Improved Healthstones.
Trying to work out an affliction build to support this.
I used a standard build and came up with 53/2/16 by taking the 2 points out of ruin. If my thinking is correct, I will only be using the ISB to put the debuf up and since I will be affliction the extra crit will not be as huge as a loss?
If my thinking is totally jacked up, please let me know. If any build suggestions I would love to see them.
Thank You

I would suggest using a standard destruction build with two points moved from Demonic Embrace to Improved Healthstone: 0/13/58.
As for an affliction build, that's more difficult to say. From a standard 53/0/18 I'd take one point away from Cataclysm. Would need to run simcraft to determine which other talent point gives the least DPS.

My question is does the actual flight time/animation of incin come into effect with imo.. ex. imo has 1 second left but im at max range and the incin animation take 2-3 seconds to reach the target, imo ticks off by the time incin hits. does this effect the damage of that incin?

Incinerate's damage is calculated at the time of the cast, so if Immolate is still up when you finish the cast of Incinerate, you get the bonus damage of immolate being up, even if it drops during Incinerate's travel time.

Can anyone comment on whether Nether Protection will trigger on Twin Val'kyr? We may be attempting the "Hockey Goalie" strategy where I will be eating a fair amount of opposite color orbs. I know black orbs are shadow damage, but have not specced Nether Prot for the fight yet to see if it works. Still trying to decide between Destro and Meta for the encounter.

Got a gearing question - I know the 2pc tier 8 set bonus is currently superior to the 4pc tier 9 set bonus because the extra immolate damage doesn't affect conflag, and as of yet blizzard has not commented if this is a bug or intended.
Right now I'm using 3 pieces of 8.5 and 2 pieces of 9.245 - I want to get the non tier helmet from triumph emblems as well - I got another trophy in our last 25 man, so the options I see now are:
1) Wait until I have another trophy before getting any more set pieces and get the non set helm from triumph emblems
2) Get 3rd piece of t9.245 and don't get the non-set helm until I have another trophy
3) Get 3rd piece of t9.245 and 1 piece of t9.232 before getting the non-set helm
Simcraft doesn't correctly model the t9 set bonuses right now, but I need to make a decision soon on my next triumph emblem upgrade.

Assuming you haven't used one of your trophies already on the poorly itemized chest, I would suggest a fourth option:
4) Wait until you have another trophy. Continue using 2pcT8 2pcT9 until you are able to make the jump to 4pcT9, and make the chest your offset piece. Depending on what hit you have on your gear already, Flowing Vestments of Ascent or Skyweaver Robes are both excellent options. If you're able to obtain Crusader Orbs, the crafted Merlin's Robe is also a good option. In any case, you're probably better off using the tier helm/offset chest as opposed to making the (well itemized) triumph emblem helm your offset piece.

Thanks for the input. I currently need the hit the chest piece - I had originally wanted to use the helm as the offset piece because both they were well itemized and could be bought, the loot rules we use in the 25 man can make aiming for a particular piece of gear somewhat erratic.

Does nether protection proc on DoT's and auras damaging you or only on spells cast directly upon you?

DP Range
Does Demonic Pact have a range?
If so, does anyone know what it would be and if it's from the pet or from the Warlock?
Looking at some Algalon logs I'm noticing that not everyone in our raid is gaining the buff at the same time.

It's supposed to be 100 yards. Source: Demonic Pact

do believe that the source of the buff is the demon, much like bloodpact.

It never triggered for me on heroic when i played a goalie role.
I found Meta to be much more useful for the raid. You provide Improved Shadowbolt ( your mages are probably arcane ) and demonic pact to the raid. You can also get a lot of mitigation with Master Demonologist and Soul link. If you really want to stay alive you can get molten skin and glyph of soul link as well ( i didn't get skin or glyph ).

UI mods
So my UI sucks..... I'm still rockin the default UI, and i think its about time i upgrade to a less cluttered UI.
Does anyone have any suggestions? some reasoning behind the suggestions would be greatly appreciated... (ie. why is one better than the other)
Thanks for any helpful replies

Thanks! I was Meta with Felhunter + Molten Skin + Glyph of SL last week and didn't have much trouble staying alive. But this week I was going to be popping even more orbs during a Light Vortex and had considered going 37/34 for maximum mitigation. Guess I will stick with Meta.

Hopefully these are simple questions: What is the preferred order /rotation for 0/56/15 in a raid setting? I saw a flow chart in the Demo thread, but it was for 3.1. Also, when Molten Core procs with this build, do you swap the filler spell to incinerate or keep shadowbolt? Finally, is it a dps increase to always have immolate up, or only when Molten Core is up? I've recently become interested in demo again and need to freshen up. Thanks!

I was wondering if an Affliction specced Warlock and Destro specced Warlock fight it out in an AoE situation, say 5 Mobs only. Which 1 Warlock will have the upper hand in damage done?

I'd say affliction, just from looking at AOE damage on heroic Anub'arak fights, heh. Dots + seed of corruption spam = win, if the mobs live long enough.

Haste will never out scale spell power, also all the useful information and math has been done on Fetish and its a bad trinket.
