I just checked the WWS parse from the last Nax25 run and I can't find the number of crits from UA and Corruption. It shows average damage, maximum regular damage, and the maximum crit damage, but not the number of ticks that crit. Anyone got an idea on how to extract that information from WWS?
Also, I am having some trouble believing that during the Patchwerk fight, my Haunt was only up for 50% of the time. I watch my DoTimer and I refresh Haunt every time, sometimes clipping it by 1s. I know I have had Haunt up for over 75% of the time before (sorry, old WWS pre 3.1 had been purged), so I don't understand what's going on with my DoT uptime in these recent fights. Am I missing something obvious here?

Are you digging into the entries at all? I see 88% haunt uptime. I also see the number of corruption and unstable affliction crits (34 and 44% respectively).

Ah I figured out the crit part. I clicked on the name of the spell instead of the bar, and it didn't expand it. Now I got that. I also figured out why my UA and Corr uptime looked so bad: I didn't add the crit ticks. So the total number of ticks for UA is 42 + 33, which is 75. That's total of 225 sec up time, which is 87% up time. That's much more in line if what I expect. That hiding of the crit really threw me off there. Thanks for pointing it out!
Glad that it's my math that's wrong, and not my play.
Hello all I'm at my whits end. It seams no matter what spec I am trying I am never able to hit over 3.5 - 3.7k DPS. I read quite a few posts here and I feel that this is pretty unacceptable DPS.
Here is a WWS from last night. Yes I know most of our raids DPS is pretty horrid. However I still would like to do better. Is this purely due to raid comp? (no Moonkin or Elemental Shaman?) or am i doing something wrong.
Here is my spec and gear used in the WWS I posted. Gear and spec. I feel really bad asking for help here, and as far as I can tell it looks as if I'm doing everything right. ( please note I have a full complement of hit gear in the bank for other specs. Up to and including 451 hit ( way over cap )) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your damage output is very similar to mine: WWS so I'm in the same boat as you. The only thing I notice right away for you is that you should be getting more Soul Fires off.
But I'm most stumped by how much more damage you are getting out of your FG than I am. Not sure what I'm doing wrong there.

I believe this is due to our Enhancement shaman and other melee buffs also I popped Meta 3 times during the fight. on your kill it is showing as 1. Not sure if the SP boost effects the FG...
Build: 0/40/31
Gear: Decent: mostly naxx 25 but need some upgrades like dying curse, t7.5 head and a waist.
Issue: was doing much better dps (about 600) prior to 3.1
Question: Trying to get my weaving correct and am thinking that may be the issue. Have read most of these posts and have not seen one with the priority during the execute phase. During execute was letting dots and conflag drop off. Switched to trying to maintain dots and conflag and saw about a 200 dps increase.
Any thoughts on the priority for what to maintian during the execute phase.
Any other analysis or pointers would also be greatly appreciated as I am trying to get better at my spec.
thanks in advance for any information.
Reason: We are trying to get at minimum 4k dps before attempting Uldar again.

I've found that in a 40/31 spec SF weaving is a real pain with conflag thrown in there. Not only is 41/30 a higher DPS spec on paper, but, I find it easier to play, yet remarkably similar. But, if you're deadset on staying 40/31, during the execute phase, I'd keep Immo and CoA up, but let Corruption tick out. With 3/3 Molten Core, CoA should keep it up for a decent percentage and 15% on top of 9K is another 1350 dmg. Double it on a crit... worth the CoA cast.
Also, I've found that if you sequece together Life Tap, Corr, and then Immo, It all comes back up to recast in that order, VERY closely. You'll clip the LT a little, but, that should be ok. Even with replenishment, on fairly stationary fights, I find myself oom anyhow and have to LT 2-3 times in a row.
Netfelix....thanks for the input. I have been toying with going back to 41/30 (which I was prior to 3.1) until I can get into uldar gear. As I was reading the sims I did not notice that in pre uldar gear 41/30 is better dps. As of now I want the highest dps/damage I can get so I can be viable in uldar. Our guild is ready in the tanking and healing areas but we are lacking in DPS atm....thanks again
I have recently been going over my WWS in a more in-depth manner. While I am doing well on the charts, I can't help but wonder about a few glaring differences from other well played (most likely better) affliction locks.
The first and most obvious difference is the fact that my corruption makes up more of my dps than my shadow bolts. This is a consistent trend through all my fights, the percentages hang around the same from day to day and even week to week. While looking at other peoples stats, shadow bolt is almost always the majority of their damage, usually in the 30-40% range. The second thing I notice is that my corruption and UA up-time is far below what others are getting. While I don't clip my dots (most the time, haste procs/bloodlust and whatnot), I am usually right on with the reapplication (~.25-.5 of a second). I would just like to know if other people have had similar issues and if these are things I should worry about enough to try to correct them or if I should just roll with it. Also one thing to note is that I am not running the WWS client personally, these are posted by the raid leader. I only mention it because I am not sure of nuances of the client (Will I get more accurate data by running it myself?)
I can only push it to about 1800-2000 when I use my destruction spec, which I've tried tonight, both with spellstone. (WWS)
Only self-buffed and imp. Using Glyph of Spirit Tap, Glyph of Immolate and Glyph of Conflagrate.
Rotation is spirit tap, Agony, immolate, conflagrate, 3x incinerate, chaos bolt, wait one sec, conflagrate, spirit tap, immolate, 3x incinerate, chaos bolt et cetera.
Self-buffed with imp. Using Glyph of Spirit Tap, Glyph of Agony and Glyph of Haunt.
Rotation is spirit tap, shadow bolt, haunt, corruption, unstable affliction, agony, shadow bolt 3x, haunt, shadow bolt, unstable affliction, spirit tap, shadow bolt, and then just, from there, keeping debuffs up.
I mean, shouldn't I be able to do higher dmg with my gear? Should I, asap, get some hit rating and what not? Thanks for input.
Edit: I see I messed up the WWS-files. I'll fix that tomorrow, sorry.

As for destruction, change agony to CoD and use chaos bolt before the incinerates so it benefits from backdraft. And never have "wait one sec" in your rotaton. Thats probably why your DPS time on target is so low, always cast something.

Your gear is pretty bad... You need to focus on getting your hit up before all other stats. I can easily see you doing the dps mentioned above with 8-15% of your spells missing.
I'm just wondering if other guilds are seeing the same thing mine is, with melee being consistently better on just about all bosses in Ulduar. I was hoping for a little boost last night with the destro buffs, but I came out about the same as with 41/30. I'm certainly open to any input if I'm doing anything glaringly wrong too.

GC already mentioned that melee got boned in T7, so they kept them in mind when tuning the bosses in T8 content. I'll try to big up the post that was on the DD forums.

Ive personally got alot better reults on a few of the bosses where you seemed to be pretty low down the order, one thing you have to remember about melee, especially Death Knights, is they have huge AoE bonuses when it comes to dps, as there are alot of bosses in Ulduar with multiple adds they have a greater chance to shine.
Razorscale for example, you should be pushing 4-5k atleast, Multiple mobs, alot of chance to aoe and when the boss is at 50% alot of chance to nuke, prior to 50% you can also aoe the adds which are still being tanked to "cheat" the meters, but this will lower your dps on the boss.
For my guild personally, its been the casters up high on meters more often than not, that can be due to raid set-up or a number of other factors. Wow Web Stats
Radekal,
I am in a similar situation but I don't have my 4 pc set bonus yet. I thought the gear looked good to me. Guess it's your point of reference. I've seen some suggest that 3x incinerates is better dps than chaos bolt on backdraft but haven't noticed a big enuff diff in dps. I think you should have the incinerate glyph, conflagurate, and life tap. One thing that really jumped out at me is your hit rating. It seemed to reflect on how many times chaos bolt missed on the test dummy. You dont have 3% hit from suppression so I would think you want at least 368 hit. I've also read COD is better than COA unless in last minute of fight but to me I don't see a big difference in DPS from it. Personally, I think its fine tuning dots and hitting your CD's along with the rotation priority. Rotation looks correct.

If you are specced 3/13/55 then Glyphs should be Incinerate, Life Tap, Conflag. You should be CoD when theirs more than a minute left. Rotation should be like, Life Tap -> CoD -> Imm -> Conflg -> CBolt -> Incinerate x3 -> then it goes to priority.
If you are specced 0/13/58 then Glyphs should be Incinerate, Immolate, Conflag. CoD as always if more than minute. Rotation is same rotation as up top but don't life tap until actually needed. Imp Soul Leech will give you alot of mana back so you will be life tapping alot less.

You should only be life tapping as needed with 3/13/55 as well.
I really don't know where the "life tap every 20 seconds no matter what" idea came from - sure, the simcraft profiles do so, but only because it was the best of several "easy" strategies to implement in the simcraft code. I think the theoretically optimal strategy is not to life tap every 20 seconds for the buff, but rather to spread your life taps equally out across the length of the fight, timing it so you're exactly OOM at time_to_die=0. Implementing this strategy in simcraft is a bit of a challenge, but I'll try it as soon as I have some time on my hands.
Been reading EJ for a long time but never posted before. I recently switched to destruction and I am wondering about the damage I do in comparisson to what I am supposed/expected to do at my level of gear "in real gaming".. as the simcraft numbers never seem to apply to or reflect my situation.. simcraft numbers are always way higher than I can bring even when using similar gear as in the sim. I did my first 25 ulduar raid yesterday as destro and we did XT and Kologarn.
Why I am wondering is becuase I used to be affliction for a long time and topped about 4500 dps in your average tank n spank fight which is nowhere near the 7k here and there I hear people do.
As destro I noticed a clear boost, actually beating our mages most of the times which is something i didnt do before, but I would like to get some input from others about their average dps/dps peaks on these two bosses. (also on Razorscale and Ignis if that is possible even though I dont have any numbers of my own on those yet)
I had alot of lag during this raid for some reason, probably affected my dps, latency peaked as high as 900 even though it was around 250 when my net worked as intended (normal latency around 100-150)
(dont have any wws on these fights Im afraid)
On XT I did on average of around 5100-5300 dps, including some aoe on bots, reaching as high as 6k during heroism on heart phase.
On kologarn I had some massive DC issues so I really just got one decent try there without lag/dc issues and then I was around 4.9k-5k with nuking arm/boss, didn't do any aoe becuase our 5 mages handled that alone.
rotation was something like CoD - immo - CB - CF - In ---> priority, with the occational corruption while running.
so basically what I am wondering, are these numbers something I could be pleased with considering my gear, no 2pt8 etc or is it still on the low end?
