I don't think it actually measures a different distance in game-feet and game-meters; it just uses whatever the standard unit is in the country of the language's origin in tooltips.

Check "Value of 4pT7" thread for math, but tapping every 8 secs is clearly waste of DPS. Mind you, once 3,1 hits, tapping every 20 secs with LT glyph will be optimal.

If you don't have the 4pc this makes sense, but if you do, remember that haunt refreshes corruption's buffs. ie, if you continue to life tap after haunt, your corruption will never benefit from the increased spell power.

I just tested this, I still have to recast corruption, both on the ptr and on the (european) live realms.


Yes, a spell power bonus is updated at every refresh. But Death's Embrace is no spell power bonus.

I've had the same results as Kalle on US live and the ptr.

Haunt will properly recalculate Corruption's damage when a change to your spellpower occurs, but not when you receive a flat % damage increase buff - e.g., Thaddius, Malygos.

What about other way around? If I recast corr in spark / with polarity, and keep haunting it after buff is gone, what then?

I'm currently not a warlock, though i used to be. For school and for a friend, and a little bit of fun, i have been compiling and computing giant wall of numbers words and thought processes about the rotation uptime vs shadowbolt time etc.. I was curious where the right place to post a 5+ page wall of text on affliction dps is.

This seems like as good a place as any for Affliction insights Tyrova. Though at 5 pages you may want to link to an external website from here :o.

I use forteXorcist Dot Timer which shows the ticks and I'm pretty sure the ticks adjust appropriately when pushed back. I'll check tonight though, atm too busy nerdrage QQing about having to spec back to affliction due to conflarate nerf lameness.

Incidentally, now that I need to go back to affliction after the 0/40/31 nerf and never ever wanting to use the Felguard (urgh, just urgh) I was playing around with the talent calculater and came up with this:

I'm over hitcapped, find threat a problem and I believe that, especially in Ulduar with more movement in fights, the 1 point in each range talent will result in better DPS. Looks nice, what do people think?

Has there been any discussion about the use of improved curse of weakness in raids as of yet? It seemed the 2 points were better spent there instead of Improved Life Tap but I don't really know how effective it is.

I would assume that's exactly why he didn't take it. That extra mana won't matter when tapping every 20 secs.

Correct mana is not much of an issue for aff spec with the Life Tap glyph.

Has anyone done the math on 4pT8? It looks like very solid bonus and it surely is, but the question is: is it better than non-set items in Ulduar which are usually better than the T8?

I think this belongs here. First off, sorry if this has been addressed - I read through the first few and last several pages of this thread and do not see it anywhere.

On the front page there is repeatedly a reference to a 30% bonus damage applied to both Corr/UA from Everlasting Affliction. Perhaps it did at one point, but today the text reads:

It looks to me like it simply adds 5% more spell power, giving a 1.61 multiplier [1.2 (base) + 0.36 (Imp Corr) + 0.05 (EA)] of your spell power. Quite a nerf if this is real, can any of you gurus comment/confirm?

Last page Nightfall was discussed........I have not seen it pop up since the 3.1 launch, and certainly have not had a a shadowbolt with 0 cast time (and yes, I have the points in it). Is this a bug? The nightfall buff used to pop with a counter, does the counter simply not come up now? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Also, is the Glyph of Life Tap available? I have not seen it at the Auction House yet.

Depends on the server for Glyph of Life Tap. Scribes have use Books of Glyph (or some similar name) that are world drops in order to learn a large majority of the new glyphs. They have been quite rare, athough the drop rate was increased.
