Does anyone know if there is a buff limit for players? The reason I am even asking is during raids with my trinkets, set bonuses etc I often reach 4 rows of buffs and cannot receive any more on my screen. I often have buffs that I gain no benefit from like inspiration, feral / rampage, trueshot / aboms might /unleashed rage, etc.
If I reach the 4 row limit does this mean I wont be able to receive hots and my self procs? If so is there a way to exclude myself from even getting useless buffs and auras?

Sure, this will probably make Blizzard have to re-code and re-design it for a major patch but hey, at least it will be fixed.

You can't have SE affecting all the players attacking the target, like scorch does.

Krilz:
You need to reread the tooltip on Shadow Embrace. If you allow it to stack, it becomes a really huge problem in PVP. Not so much for the increased periodic damage, but for the effect on reduced healing. PVE this isn't a problem, but PVP, you'd essentially be able to reduce healing done by too much of an amount of 60%. I think THAT's the biggest issue with stacking SE's.
Nicsnock: There is no debuff limit, blue posts confirmed that. The only issue is that your UI won't be able to graphically load all the debuffs on said target, but they are still there.

I'm curious about the question that was asked myself. I think there still is, especially if you say that you are not gaining benefit. With all the raid-wide buffs it wouldn't surprise me, especially with totems.

I know blue stated they removed the debuff limit, I am curious if the same is happening for the buffs a player has at any one time. I have been noticing myself and others capping the buff limit that we can see on our UI. Can anyone confirm that we dont capp out at a certain number of buffs?

I recall back in NAXX40 on loatheb with all thinkable buffs on (onyxia+ZG), that my flask buff at some point didnt show. When i later died it was still there. I doubt that it would just be temporarily turned off. Im not saying that there is no buff limit, but dont base anything on what your UI tells you.

I know this and this shouldn't be a huge problem for Blizz to fix, so that 2/2 is the cap of SE on the target, and further won't work. The trouble will be as DiamondTear pointed out, determining that only warlocks can have the benefits when it comes to damage.

Don't assume it's always so easy. We don't know what performance shortcuts the debuff system had at first implimentation that are holding it back now. The general trend seems to be that if there is one debuff, with one global portion and one personal portion, they haven't figured out how to make it stack correctly with other copies of the same debuff. DK Ebon Plaguebringer seems to have the same issue. The ideal solution is that multiple SE debuffs exist but only one such MS effect applies; this is actually unlike any currently existing debuff, since it's multiply copies of SE rather than an SE and an MS.
*I think slowing effects are coded as a "to 70% move speed" rather than "by 30%" effect, so they inherently don't stack.
