The only issue I'd see is in heavy damage fights, we would have to be far more careful with our pet's survivability.

Then I repeat again my first post, is it possible to include 56/0/15 in post #1 ? Maybe the person who has the T10 profiles could do this.
Dark Pact is not trivial because it has certain weird behaviors. The advantage is obvious, you don't loose health while casting it, the disadvantages are the following:
1) it can't be cast repeatedly, or the felhunter goes oom and it loses its effect (mostly a problem right before the fight, but also when moving)
2) it has glitches (sometimes you think the cast failed for a moment)
3) it has a delay (so you need to have a little more mana all the time, or certain casts would fail because you're oom for 200 milliseconds)
4) the pet must be alive (an AoE-nuke problem or maybe poor healers)
5) the pet must be close to you (you may be out of his range, even though you're on target's range)
For short, an authoritative figure in post #1 could help me (and others) decide what's worth to choose.

Why not both?
I use Dark Pact where I receive damage (how many times have we life tapped to then die from external damage)
Life Tap can then be used on a need basis.
Example Anub'arak post 30%. How many Warlocks have I heard complain about low health and low mana blah blah.
I find the options are fantastic and allow players more flexibility.
Plus with T10 Life Tap starts to lose alot of its value and Dark Pact gains
Easy choice in my eyes

I'd assume that any reasonably good geared demo lock (ie at least 2xt9/2xt10) would be sitting over 1k self buffed haste already and i'd expect thats why crit is showing as marginally better as its something they have in abundance. Maybe its pointing us to look at gear with more crit rather than haste. Also noticed that cloth i have seen with + crit on is generally loaded with spirit which could work out a lot more beneficial perhaps depending on current stats ofc

Tests show that [Phylactery of the Nameless Lich] (normal version) has a 90 second ICD and a 20 sec uptime. Maximum uptime percentage should be 20/90=22,222...%. Modeling it in simcraft though gives me 25% uptime which makes me assume that it is modeled wrong and if so, it's value should drop below that of other trinkets and our BiSlists needs to be altered slightly.

That's the uptime over an infinite timespan, if the cooldown is 90s, and a fight takes 120s, you'll probably get 2 full procs and 33% uptime. Essentially if the fight length wraps neatly around the procs then it can comfortably have higher uptime. I recommend playing with the fight length randomizer a bit.

A demo lock should prioritize spirit over haste/crit, and is actually quite likely to not have 760 haste unless they've been focusing on the wrong stats. It's important to look at the results in perspective though- ie, how much haste and crit and lag do *you* have?

So I was just running a profile I have set up on WoWhead and ran Patchwerk and Helter Skelter to compare, and while I expect somewhat lower DPE for Helter Skelter due to lower buff/debuff uptime, most spells besides SB and SF lost about 10%, which seems rather large. Then there's curse of doom, which dropped about 40%. Now I know that can't be right. Is this an error in the damage or does does execute time for the spells include movement time in how its calculated?

Thanks, that would explain it. Is it possible to customize the Helter Skelter mode? Maybe something to consider adding some options for in the UI in the future so you can play with making it more like different fights?

Look in the Examples tab for raid_events+...
Construct the kind of fight you want and put the raid_events+ lines in the Override tab.
Set the fight to Patchwerk to make sure the app doesn't insert its own raid events.
Simulate!

The results in first post were not updated for a long time, so i decided to check them. I ran Patchwerk fight using the profile used in description (BiS T9) Profiler - Wowhead and:
1) My result is 9693 DPS, 600lower than on first post. Can't find any reason why OP had so high score.
2) As i expected there is a mistake in scale factors-haste. its 1.5, not 1.0
If anyone knows what is the reason for those numbers being so far off, please correct me.

New sim does 10300 DPS indeed, just typo in scale factors-haste

If I use the Overrides tab to factor out any set bonuses, I get a value of around 320 dps. If I do the same for the 2 piece T9, around 106, for demonology. So 4 piece T10 plus the added stats wins by around 300 dps overall according to my calculations. Rhadatip in-game also agrees with this. However when i run the two profiles with 2 piece T9/T10 and 4 piece T10 with all other gear the same, I only get a 60 dps increase (ignore the profile name, it is indeed demo):

This is interesting, whats the order that the simulationcraft starts casting the rotation ?
If its the following :
>precombat pot
>lifetap
start fight
>shadowbolt x2
>haunt
>NMIC
>corruption
>UA
...
Then corruption would be without the effect trough the entire fight, since it doesnt do anything to recast it.
If this is the case, then the following scenario should bring way bigger damage done :
lifetap
start fight
>UA (the sooner the 4p procs, the better)
>shadowbolt x2
>haunt
>corruption
>curse of agony
-when devious minds (4pT10) procs-
>NMIC
>corruption
...
The fact that you can roll the p4 like NMIC actually makes this bonus alot better since you get half 4pT9 trough the entire fight basically.
Hope they dont change that.
EDIT : Since the simulcraft also isnt showing critrolled corruption, the actual damage output when rolling 4pT10 and MNIC would be much bigger then shown at the moment

I notice the first post has: "/haunt,debuff=1". I assume that tells the sim to only recast haunt to keep the debuff up? I believe that's a DPS loss.
With my character:
"/haunt,debuff=1" = 23.3 casts.
"/haunt" = 30.3 casts, 107 DPS increase.

I suspect this is due to corruption or shadow embrace falling off as a result of this behaviour, you could try add conditionals to make it cast haunt on cooldown during heroism or below 35% and see what happens.

I've found the warlock spreadsheet recommending I cast curse of doom instead of coa in justus's gear.
So I put the following code in simulationcraft for affliction.
actions+=/curse_of_doom,time_to_die>=90
actions+=/curse_of_agony,time_to_die>=28
The simcraft also projects a small dps increase by casting COD in my particular case.
So I took the ideal gear sets from the 3.3 thread and ran the sim with normal actions list and then a second sim with the cod/coa lines -- it shows
dps
13305 300second CoA normal rotation
13303 300second CoD >90, coa > 28 rotation.
I find it interesting that they're projected to be so close in dps (a gain to cast CoD in some cases), and I do think there are situations where the boss is about to go into an untargettable phase where CoD may be superior anyway(sindragosa for instance). A thought for people simming themselves to try out.
