With my current gearset, breaking the 4 pc T8.5 bonus for the 2 pc T9.0 bonus (shoulders and gloves) gives me LESS than 100 DPS gain according to simcraft (7707 -> 7804).

Ouch.

I've been using simcraft to run personal dps (optimal_raid=0) to gauge gear upgrades.

Can someone explain to me why Set1 is so much higher?

I leave the Hit rating on each to 446 because I am assured to be hit capped during raid given current raid makeup.

I think it might be Dying Curse vs Scale, at least in part.

Does anyone know the full buff list? I'd like to do a custom set instead of optimal_raid=1 but the old list of individual buffs isnt recognised by simcraft anymore.

The method shadow_bolt_t::ready() is wrong.

To get a working implementation of isb_benefit and isb_trigger
this method has to be changed to:

From Empowered Imp. The lower your paper doll crit is, the better this bonus is. As your crit increases, the bonus will go down (as Empowered Imp procs will have had a better chance to be a crit anyway), but the nice thing is, this isn't just a boost to Incinerate, but an overall crit increase for all your abilities. Chances are you'll see the biggest benefit through Incinerate still, as it makes up ~50% of our damage, but on paper it's a crit buff to all your abilities. And don't forget the obvious, it's also an increase to your imp's damage.

These are the 4 tests I did and shadow bolt seems to do more. So in my current gear which will soon to be regemmed until then should I switch to shadow bolt?

Since you're getting off roughly the same amount of incinerates and shadow bolts, I'm guessing the spec you used for those tests didn't have 5/5 Emberstorm.

Once you start moving from 226 gear to 239/T9/ToC gear, I think the answer is yes. I'm the designated demo lock for my guild and I run with over 4000 SP, giving a much bigger buff than the totem (411 to be exact). It should be noted that it's not just a buff for the caster dps: healers also get a big boost and, to a lesser extent, enhance shamans, paladins, etc.

You really need to try it in a raid setting to see what your bonus will be. Demonic Knowledge creates a situation where all stamina and intellect buffs provide additional SP (including Spiced Mammoth Treats). Demonic Embrace and Fel Vitality also boost your SP considerably.

That being said, my damage is not nearly as good as the other locks. On the other hand, I'm now first in line for SP upgrades. I got the guild's first Starshard Edge last night.

I was running some comparison's in our guild and sifting through the raw data text and I noticed that if you import your wowhead profile, it isnt correctly importing everything. (gear, etc.)

also without the raid it is showing everyone as having 0 hit rating, etc.

if i have the raid optimization on does it only include the armor bonuses with the raid build?

Also I am a different spec than they are (i'm xtera). I am specced into suppression and according to this I only have 14.95% hr, is it properly taking into account that I have the extra 3%.

do I need to adjust the settings for 25 man raids so that the cap is properly raised to 17% for 100% hit rating. because according to this 14% hr in raid is enough without suppression.

For some odd reason you have players listed twice........ It is always helpful to post the .simcraft file that generated the html output.

I fixed that, i had the initial file setup wrong.

Maybe I'm not understanding the output properly, but my hit should be higher than the other two correct. Is it properly taking into account the suppression buff? I guess with optimal_raid set to 1 so I guess it really doesn't matter.

I hope I am not missing the elephant in the room here, but why are we still simcrafting using tier 8 equipment when tier 9 is now out? Not trying to get up anyone's nose here etc, just wondering why I hadn't seen anything on the new set bonuses etc yet.

The simcraft from the 0/13/58 build uses glyph of lifetap, but is it beneficial to have both ISL leech AND glyph of lifetap?

To me it seems that you dont life tap as much whit ISL which makes glyph of lifetap pretty bad, but if you DO lifetap to keep the buff up, is ISL necassary? Isnt it better to just put te points in supression so you can take less hit?

As you can see from the simcraft logs, even with GoLT and ISL, you still need to Lifetap more for mana than you'd need to just keep the buff up.

That said, in almost every fight, there is some movement involved, which means opportunities to life tap (for the mana return and to refresh the glyph buff) that aren't "wasted" GCDs you could be spending on damaging spells. Orgath, is this still true when you turn on movement in simcraft? I'm not sure if that feature is considered "accurate" yet or not.

That feature is not applicable for simulating this correctly as it enforces periodic behaviour and unless you set the timeframe for movement >40s (which is for most fights to high) you will see no detriment to GoLT efficiency.
Even than, it nowhere reads to refresh the buff on cooldown, simcraft only simulates this for a PW style fight as the most efficient use.

Yes that is true and I understand that, its also the reason that I choose the glyph of lifetap...

But that still doesnt explain why I would spec into ISL. Actually, the fact that ToC has quite a lot movement, I see no reason to even take ISL.
