I would just pick up 4pc minus chest even if its 232. The raw stat value increases and tier set bonuses will yield a noticeable dps increase. Try picking up the chest off of anub10 man. It's a good substitute if you don't have the luxury of doing 25man content.

Just where did you get these weights?

Could have sworn haste was rated at about 1.54 dps...

Also I'm promoting 2 sets of gear that are easily attainable by most guilds. None of the tier pieces used are ilvl258
with 4 piece
chardev.org v6 ~ a World of Warcraft character planner

with 2 piece
chardev.org v6 ~ a World of Warcraft character planner

According to the warlock dps spreadsheet the 4piece set is doing 8760dps and the 2piece set with the better offset pieces is doing 8804 dps.

Custom gear sets 2 and 3 are what was used to determine this. spreadsheet here Download warlock_dps_v320a (Autosaved).xls

thoughts?

From my personal viewpoint: Don't bother trying to get the 258 neck.
Every single caster and healer is bidding on that piece right now(specially those evil healers).

I was thinking of adding a "mid tier" to the Simcraft exactly for the reason that the 258 tier set is kind off hard to get by with only limited tokens a week.
Hope to get it done later the week.

There aren't static weights for any stat, they are determined using simcraft with different gearsets. Different gear and specs will return different weights.

If you want to know how much each stat is worth to you, run simcraft using your own gear.

hmm... I was wondering how the 150 spellpower battlemasters trinket compares to all these trinkets.
I was looking at my recount last night, and during a boss i did 2.7million damage, whereas the piller of flame from my Reign of the Dead only contributed ~57k of the damage. In 2.7 million, that's pretty insignificant.
With that, i was thinking that the battlemaster's trinket would have done the exact same thing, minus the 57k.... Is it really that bad?

The proc will account for ~2% of your total damage.
2.700.000 * 0.02 = 54.000

It´s a matter of perspective of course.
Only the proc of your trinket accounts for 2% of your total damage - I personally wouldn't say that's too bad.
If you call 2% insignificant on a min/maxing base - then optimizing your gear, sockets and enchants for less than a handful of % would be bad as well.

You can take a different trinket and do less damage - but it´s highly doubted that you´ll be happier that way then.

I don't understand this calculation:
Using the 0/13/58 weights:
SP 1.59
HIT 0.00
CRIT 0.82
HASTE 1.10
SPIRIT 1.02
INT 0.31
STA 0.00

It means 1 additional SP is increasing your dps by 1,59, and 1 spirit is by 1,02.
As I know 3 point spirit gives you 1 SP, so if 1 SP gives 1,59 dps 1 spirit gives 1,59/3 dps 0,53.

Or am I thinking wrong?

1 point spirit gives 0.649 spellpower in those calculations ((0.39 from fel armor + 0.2 from glyph of life tap)*1.1 from king) = 0.649! 1.59*0.649= 1,03 actually, and that's just from the spellpower part of the spirit contribution. It also gives more mana / life tap so it should be just a little little bit more actually!
