Someone needs to post a fully detailed mechanics of gurthalak in offhand please.

Quicks, I have posted logs with LFR gurthalak in OH, only BT damage, and procs. It was later also confirmed by another tester who thought I was wrong. What method did you use to test it, and how did you track it?

I'm under the impression that along with the paladin fix on gurthalak, something changed that affects the behaviour of it when in offhand.

Between tuesday and thursday I saw a significant loss in the amount of procs, although considering how low the proc chance is, it could be nothing more but a streak of low procs. I'll repost when I'll have a sufficient amount of data.

I finally had the time to do some testing considering Gurthalak normal. Note that testing was done after the paladin fix was applied.

All of the testing was done without any raid buffs, every session lasted aprox 15 min (4 recklessness), on a scull level target dummy.

Using Sulfuras hc on main hand Gurthalak offhand :

Session 1 : 25164326 dmg done Gurthalak did 2483752
Session 2 : 25785138 dmg done Gurthalak did 2512991

Using Gurthalak on main hand Sulfuras hc offhand :

Session 1 : 24650834 dmg done Gurthalak did 2804183
Session 2 : 24548541 dmg done Gurthalak did 1873855

Using 2 Gurthalak

Session 1 : 24667968 dmg done Gurthalak did 2383972
Session 2 : 24543765 dmg done Gurthalak did 2168367

From my testing it seems that having it on mainhand, offhand or having it on both slots is irrelavant as the weapon's proc dmg was a steady % of the total dmg done, somewhere between 9 and 11%.

I'm starting to believe that it either it procs from all attacks, or mainhand only attacks.

Edit: I decided to check the proc rate during my testing. Supposing it only procs off mainhand attacks i got a result of 2.57%. The proc rate for both mainhand and offhand attacks was 1.77%

Edit 2 : Small mistake, I forgot to remove the amount of misses from the autoattacks. The actual percentages based on the attacks that hit are 2.64% and 1.83%.

I have experienced similar problems with 2pc T12, noticing that equipping Backbreaker Pauldrons instead of Molten Giant heroic yields a gain of almost 900 dps, despite losing 2pc T12 bonus.

I have now played around with the T12 pieces cell AR20 and have manually set the number of T12 pieces to zero while not changing the actual pieces I wear. Doing this yields the following dps increases, depending on the Free Off-BT Priority setting (2 pts in Booming Voice):

Free Off-BT Priority “TG2T12” remaining unchanged => +100 dps
Free Off-BT Priority “TG” remaining unchanged => +840 dps
Free Off-BT Priority changed from “TG2T12” to “TG” => +190 dps

So in all cases, losing 2 pc T12 without changing the actual gear increases dps instead of decreasing it.

I'm looking into why this is happening, and I've reason to believe it is because of melee indexing. Thanks.

So... According to the spreadsheet, Gurth Heroic + Gurth Normal is BIS weapons... That just seems very odd to me.

Seems like in certain situations, having a Gurth Heroic+ Gurth normal is better than 2x Gurth or Gurth HC + Cudgel HC.

Is this because the spell is different and has a higher proc chance (when you have 2 different Gurths)?
