21k hp fully raid buffed is fine. Assuming you're completely buffed and the boss is debuffed, you can survive during stomp easily assuming you get healed. Properly staggering timers as you have planned is a natural move as well.

I will second this -- I find Moroes to be far better for this fight that SMI. I also run commendation over SMI.

Slightly off topic, but a question about heroic MGT trinkets non-the-less: Has there been updated research on the TPS of the new shard of contempt? It seems like one of the better threat generating trinkets in the game atm.
I was also curious to see all of your thoughts on when to use a trinket such as the shard of contempt over a trinket like the autoblocker (for threat, mitigation etc...).

What do you mean "maxed out"? Maxed out on what exactly? Also, is this supposed to be on a live server or something? You can't have more than 2 elixirs active nowadays.

I don't think theres really a point to your original post. But if you are going for maximum hitpoints there are a lot of things you could improve on gear-wise.
As you are doing this on a private server and breaking the limitations of what can be done on a live server I don't really see the point in this.

Wowhead has your answers.
For example your spyglass trinket is much lower stamina than a 2nd darkmoon card, or better, the commendation.

Thank you galzohar, I'll check that out.
Darkmoon Card: Vengeance +51 Stamina, very nice.
I don't have the 2.4 patch set up yet on my private server, so I'll have to upgrade to get the commendation.
EDIT:
Anything else I can change?

What is Super Stamina & Super Agility? Do you mean Fortitude and Superior Agility? If you care about maxing hp only, you should use Fortitude to Boots and the +10 stam patch on gloves, not to mention the engineering gun.
Edit: Added emphasis.

I don't remember if it's on the main post or not, but boar's speed is probably a pretty obvious tradeoff - lose 3 stamina and gain 8% movement speed increase.

Aetherbeard you should probably not post in this thread. This thread isn't about getting a gear list to slap on your generated character on your emulated servers. You obviously don't even understand very basic game mechanics since you're loaded up with every elixir possible, which hasn't been permitted for some time now.
Feel free to return when you've learned how to type in your actual live wow-server character name and server (if you even have one), and return to the realm of legality with the rest of us.

Having worked through the first 3 sunwell bosses, particularly brutallus and felmyst, I have really come to appreciate [Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch]. It's definitely the best tanking trinket for these two fights by far.
The simple reason is: it has a 2 minute cooldown. Most tanking trinks have a 3 min cd, but a longer duration for the effect.
For Brutallus, Moroes can be used for every second stomp, whereas something like SMV or [Scarab of Displacement] can only be used on every 3rd stomp. The effect duration is 10 seconds and it's exceptionally high avoidance for an on-use. Stomp is also 10 seconds, so it's really extremely efficient targetted avoidance.
For Felmyst the on use clicky is up for one corrosion every ground phase.

Reliquary of Souls P3
OT Aetherbeard's stay here was short.
I believe this wasn't talked about very much. I read through nearly all 53 pages today at work looking for it as well. It has to do with Soul Scream in the 3rd phase of the Reliquary of Souls Encounter. Is it more advisable to switch to battle stance and then back into defensive? The other alternative at least to me was to work on a more effective healing strategy to anticipate potential burst damage on myself from Soul Scream+aura+ ~ 5,000 melee.
I'm not looking for a walkthrough or anything like that it's just that I'm not exactly comfortable with either of the two strategies. Phases 1 and 2 are fairly trivial they're just mere execution and awareness we got through them pretty easily. With phase 3 however I never felt comfortable with at all. Either I would successfully change then swap back(get Soul Screamed for ~35 rage) and dps find themselves threat capped. Even then a few times I would swap back perhaps prematurely and get crushed for ~7,000 and soulscream for 8.4.
The question is should stay in defensive stance burn as much rage as possible (SB/HS/SR+normal rotation) or attempt to Stance Dance back and forth. The guide (The Protection Warrior) was written pre stance nerf correct ? eg. You could drop rage from defensive stance to defensive stance. I realize this is probably little concern for alot of you considering ~15,000 burst probably isn't all to rare during some of the sunwell encounters. My healing corps is much less than optimal than I would like particuliarly for encounters like these. My stats for this encounter so far have been in the area of:
18,000 armor
21.xx Dodge
19.xx Parry
29.xx Block
705 BV With 2pc T5
I apologize for the inconsistent stats. I Logged off in avoidance gear (archimonde).

I sit in defensive stance and continue to generate as much threat as possible, and then spell reflect shortly before scream goes off, along with a shield block, to dump rage. .5~ second window, maybe. This ensures you wont be crushed right before a soul scream getting a ton of rage, and dumps 25 rage off the global cooldown. Since doing this for a few months now, it's rather easy to never take any medium to high burst from Anger.

Just stick to defensive stance and possibly wear a little more avoidance than you listed (preferably something like the Moroes trinket you wear in your avoidance set). I found that with a fast MH for quick HSes and a normal balanced set (granted, I use more avoidance than you) threat was not an issue - nor was dropping rage fast if needed. If threat should be a problem, keep in mind that MDs later in the fight are alot more efficient than early so that might help, too. Also you can use your cooldowns on unavoidable bursts such as full rage bar Soul Screams and the like since P3 is over pretty fast anyway.

Hey guys.
First let me thank all of you very much for doing so much in this thread.
My apologies if I am jumping the gun, but I am excited to get the "best" gear for my warrior now that Sunwell is out.
I was wondering if there was an updated list of "Items to attain per slot" that has been updated from the original guide here. I am thinking about swapping a couple of pieces of loot out with badges from my Tier 5 equipment, but I want to make sure I am making the right decisions.
I looked through this thread (most of it is a bit overwhelming for me) and didn't see anything that looked like an updated list of mitigation or threat gear.
Can anyone point me to something like that?
Again, I apologize if I am asking too soon or if it has been done and I am just blind.

You'r talking about the new badges gear I assume? The chest, legs and to a lesser degree the ring/belt are all nicely itemised. Wether or not they are an upgrade depends on what content you'r doing.
Taking a glance at your profile, I'd take three (belt is nice for tps, but as you already have a healthy amount of expertise and hit, I'm not sure I'd take it over yours), with the chest and legs first as you should be looking towards the Supremus ring soon (as compared to council/illidan).
edit: then again, the ring is a nice upgrade for you aswell and you can keep waiting for certain items to drop..

No such list yet save what everybody has drawn up for themselves. However, there has been some discussion about which old T6 piece to keep for the set bonus, you might want to read up on that a few pages back.
On RoS P3, pretty much what the others have said. Just stay in def stance and generate the most threat you can. Tell your healers to queue heals with soul scream in mind, that should help a lot. Also you can nightmare seed - last stand - shield wall through the whole encounter making healing easier. And you absolutely should hit shield block every time it's up. Spell reflect before scream and if you are still uncomfortable with the amount of rage you have, use cleave instead of HS, especially if you have the improved HS talent. Cleave is less threat but not by that much. Using shield slam before scream is less doable but you can still aim for it if necessary.

I think everybody should take the legs at least if they are not already (or really soon) killing Brutallus. While T6 or Praetorian's are good, the massive expertise (and stamina) on the badge legs is worth the 100 badges.
I think a more complicated matter is still which old T6 piece to keep and whether the new cloak and neck are upgrades in any gear setup. They look nice with lots of stamina and so on, but slikk's has a ton of armor and deftness has hit with expertise.
The new shield seems to me marginally better than bulwark, pity it's so ugly.
We have yet to see the new trinket from M'uru and there is a small chance we'll get a new ring too. With three new healer rings available there should be a new tanking ring too.
No new ranged weapon in sight, although the throwing weapon from normal MgT is nice even if it's only an iLvl 115 blue.

For the private server guy: I got 20,2k ub hp in max gimp staminagear (for shits, giggles and Kael), taurens ftw :>
Anyway, RoS p3: I stancedance twice, def -> battle around 2,5 sec before soulscream, and right after the stance CD I go back to def. This way i'm low rage, and don't get hit by scream in battle stance. There's bit of a risk though. If you switch to battle too late, you might not get back in def stance in time. Crush in battle+soulscream=hope your healers are awake.
And we got our first brutallus kill yesterday, 2xprotwarrior tanks. One trinket no-one mentioned is Ancient Aqir Artifact from Zul'Jin. 2000 armor on use, *2*min CD like moroes'. Heard it doesn't get halved by stomp, but i didn't have time to check. Used it with commendation (got it yesterday too, one run after exhalted with SSO, done dailys once...). Had 3 tank healers, one good geared hastepally, one pally in Venge/T5/kara gear and one decently geared priest. Tank deaths weren't an issue.

RoS P3, I stay in D stance the entire time. I get a imp LoH during the 2 --> 3 transition and pop an ironshield potion to buff my armor as to lower rage generation a little bit. HS / normal threat rotation and be aware of your rage bar and ready to hit spell reflect just before the soul scream. Threat is already difficult enough in that phase, with your rage bar disappearing regularly messing with your cycles. I wouldn't want to lower it further by dancing.
For healers, I normally have two pallies chaining HL rank 11 on me for the phase...mana isn't normally a problem due to the brevity of the phase and the SA mana they get from being healed on the aura ticks.
Around 70% start rotating cool downs....trinket --> nightmare seed --> last stand --> shield wall. The boss should be dead right around when SW ends.

While we haven't killed Brut yet (had 4 or 5 very close tries yesterday with one 1% wipe) - I also agree that Moroes + Commendation is probably one of the best trinket combos you can use here. For stomps that you have to tank completely you can often use your watch and if the procc from the commendation also activates healing you through the stomp becomes much more manageable, at least for my healers. I was pondering using Displacement instead of the Commendation but I really wouldn't want to drop to minimal health levels because often you won't be tanking without any health deficit.
