Precision after soft cap

Hi all,

my TG fury warrior has 7% to hit before talents. Should I spend more than 1 point in Precision? How much will those points be woth on an Ulduar equipped DD?
Alternatives would be Enrage or Improved Berserker. Or some utility.

I'm at 207 expertise rating which leaves me at 25, just one short of the dodge cap. I'm debating between switching out my Surge Needle Ring for my Circle of death, which will leave me at 29 expertise, so by and large most of the rating I'll get will be wasted during boss fights. Re-gemming a socket seems to be the best option so my question is this: will an Accurate Monarch Topaz (8 expertise/8 hit) or Guardian's Twilight Opal (8 expertise/12 stam) make up the difference and put me at the dodge cap? Or do I need to go with a full Precise Scarlet Ruby?

The cap is 213 so an 8 expertise gem (preferrably the latter since you're already fairly high on hit rating) would be enough to cap for you.

I am a warrior tank. After reaching the dodge cap of 6.5% at 26 expertise, how much gain in dps/tps can I expect from more expertise? Do all bosses parry?

Use the spreadsheet - there's no static number. Yes all bosses parry.

My guild is in the unfortunate situation of having no feral druid and one dps warrior. It seems to me as if in this situation we're going to be missing a mangle type debuff or a LotP buff.

Firstly: is this correct? Or is there some other class that can provide these that I'm not aware of?

If so, which one of these buffs is more important - i.e. should our warrior be arms or fury? I'm aware that the top spec for personal dps changes depending on fight - would this apply to the raid buffs also?

Assume our typical raid melee dps makeup is:
1 unholy death knight,
2 retribution paladins,
1 enhance shaman,
2 rogues,
2 hunters
1 dps warrior.

Hunters, Rogues, Enhancement Shamans, Retrib Pals and DK all! profit off a +5% Crit Buff.
30% enhanced bleed damage would only favor the rogues, so a fury warrior would bring in a higher raid dps increase than an arms warrior

Question would be - is any of the rogues combat for 4% physical dmg increase. If not, I guess arms is better, otherwise fury. Of course you could also ASK a rogue to go combat.

Depending on setup i found that 27/44 spec with axe spec/trauma + fury 1h for every buff might be viable. Its a definitely dps loss compared to TG (unlike some expected), but sometimes trauma is enough to make up for it (you need to cover around 800 dps loss with trauma).

Axe Spec, or Mace?

I can buy the teir1 S6 weapon on Tuesday, I'm not sure though... Axe or Mace? I have 657 ArP Rating.

(Hoping this is the right place to ask).

I would go with the axe. The amount of ArP needed for Mace-Spec to be better than Axe is quite unreachable atm (as someone has written here in the forum).

When is to much ArP

When is to much ArP..Im sitting at 518 which is 42.06% plus the 10% from battle stance which leaves me at 52.06%. My other stats are 35.06% crit and 3548 AP unbuffed. I was full BiS gear but Maly boots before wrath and picked up some new pieces in Ulduar. So when the trinket decides to drop from 10man Hard mode Thorium [Mjolnir Runestone] which is on farm the proc is 49.49% ArP..Wouldn't it be pointless to go over 100% ArP. I'm also getting the T1 S6 weapon on tuesday so should i keep gemming for ArP in the 2 sockets or is it starting to go to waste and start gemming for str. instead.

Nope. ArPen keeps having increasing returns and damage does increase even past 100%, so keep stacking it.

Read the Combat Ratings thread (page 17 I believe) if you want the details.

I've just come back to Warrior after a break. Pre-3.1 I had a standard 54/17 PvE Arms build.

Now that Weapon Mastery is available to Arms, for a PvE build I'm wondering is it worth dropping Imp Execute (or 2 points somewhere else) to grab Weapon Mastery? No fdruid in the raid so I wasn't keen to drop Trauma.

Dodge Diminishing Returns

Hey guys, just had a quick question for you about diminishing returns on dodge for a warrior. I havent been able to have anyone explain it to me that satisfies my curiousity.

When people talk about diminishing returns for dodge are they refering to that fact that the same amouont of dodge rating as your dodge gets higher will give you less dodge %? Hypothetically for example, 50 dodge rating if my dodge% is 15% will give me say 2 more % dodge and if my dodge % was 22% that same 50 dodge rating would only give me lets say 1.2% dodge.

Or does the diminishing returns relate to the fact that if my dodge is too high, creatures will not be affected by my chance to dodge? kind of like trying to chain fear something that becomes immune to the fear can mobs become resistent to my dodges and gain a better chance to hit me?

The first one. There is no such thing as a "fear-like" DR on avoidance, since avoidance is not an actual ability, but a passive stat.
