The dodge is equal to the parry, and I would roughly equate the str and block value as equal to the block rating - neither is especially great.

Unless I am mistaken, stamina is worth about 10-13 armour at current gear levels, so the Forlorn Barrier is a pretty clear effective health drop. It comes down to how much you value Block Value, which is my next question.

I'd generally ignore block value as pretty pointless at this stage, my gear gives ~1100, which is negligable on most Heroic content. Glyph of Blocking is looking weaker as time goes on as well, I'd consider dropping it for Last Stand or possibly Taunt - though I find it hard to drop constant mitigation (however small) for a situational bonus like Taunt, especially when Vigilance and the 2-set give you quite a lot of redundancy.

Am I undervaluing block value? I am basically writing off the T9 parts with block value (at least until Heroic versions). Is it worth dropping the block glyph? Are people switching to the Taunt glyph? Or are people using the taunt glyph like a consumable, swapping it in for specific fights? This is what I am inclined to do.
The shield is not better in my opinion than the borean guard the Armor you gain from the Barrier doesn't outweigh the EH gain with 2 30 stam gems in the guard at all. The guard is better just slightly only because of the higher EH values on it if gemed properly. Glyph of Blocking is better than taunt don't switch for any reason it will get better once 3.2.2 takes effect and if you get 4 piece. Forlorn Barrier(hardmode)>Aegis of the Coliseum>Bulwark of Algalon > The Boreal Guard>Forlorn Barrier

That order of shields is correct.

*edit forgot about the 10 man shield ^_^ my bad

Anyone have comments on the [Bitter Balebrew Charm] and [Bubbling Brightbrew Charm]? I don't raid 25mans ever and was still using [Essence of Gossamer] so its definitely an upgrade for me. But compared to the [The Black Heart] and other trinkets I'm not sure. Anyone's got a breakdown of how good these two stam trinkets are compared to what was available outside of 25mans?

These are good for encounters where raid damage is very random and bursty (think 25 Freya +3 pre nerf), to reach a certain HP limit. Or for some very special roles like orb catchers at the Twin Valkyrs 25 hard encounter.
They should be crap for tanks though in comparison to other STA heavy trinkets (exception: gossamar) because they lack any usable sideeffect (dodge, parry, armor, ...).

in short: nice to have for raid members ... not so useful for tanks

From what I can see in Taliafears spreadsheet (my updated version of it, using the same boss profiles though so only pre Ulduar bosses are modeled) the trinkets are certainly competetive. They are both better than [Essence of Gossamer] (since the Essence proc is pretty bad in any case), and also seem to beat [Eitrigg's Oath]/[Fervor of the Frostborn] (unless you really want avoidance). They are not better than [The Black Heart] or any of the endgame 25 man tank trinkets. Depending on your focus for a certain bossfight, they might be better than [Glyph of Indomitability].

Modeling the heal for the Bubbling trinket gives the equivalent of 6.3 BV, depending on boss swing speed (6.4 is for 2.5 sec, will be lower for faster bosses). Modeling the 2500 heal as a temporary absorb that is up for one boss swingtime and dividing by the cooldown to get an uptime). So, on average, the use effect is in pointless although it could be useful as a extra health pot if things get hairy.

I always liked this thread but lately it seems it hasn't been updated, any chance that someone could take over the updating or perhaps create a new thread? I think many would appreciate a new updated totc gear reference.

@JamesVZ: Ah sorry thought you were MIA, thanks for the update!

Well, I actually had an edit going with all the updates, then I realized that I can't just item tag a name for the 232/245 and 245/258 items like I used to do. So I've had to re-edit the entire thing, and there's a lot of new gear. It'll be up soon.

Cleaned up enchants and consumables links. Most of it was just best guess on my part at the time.
