After doing patchwerk last night I think execute range is very situational. The drop in hit rating has made for some very spikey rage generation. I just don't feel that executing on every global cooldown is viable. Last night I watched my rage bar, if it spiked high I would execute, if not I would continue my normal rotation and Blood Thirst was definitely hitting harder then a minimum rage execute.
Myself and the other warrior had to use sunder a few times due to not having a prot tank but that really did not effect my dps to much.
People who are interested in the new hit changes and wondering about rage....... Running with 175 hit rating I hit patch 44 times and missed 12.9%, There were 2 times throughout the fight that I found myself without rage and that was 100% due to me Heroic Strike Spamming from pre-patch bad habits. I caught this towards the end and my rage generation was perfect without spamming Heroic Strike until I spiked above 60ish.
Slam - Slam seemed to proc more then it had pre-patch however I have another bad habit of hearing a BT Crit and immediately pressing my slam key which lowered dps as well.
Execute - I used execute when my rage spiked from 2 direct white hits, if one of the white's missed I just continued my normal rotation.
WWS - WWS Loading...
I did not use heroic throw on Patch this time, I need to take daron's advice and get the swing timer.
Has anyone else done numbers on mixing up their rotation while in execute range?

Toying around with the idea of 1h DW fury still, and wondering whether a pure HS / BT (WW when excess rage / globals) build like this would be any good. Focuses mainly on rage regen, and drops some of the fury talents that focus on weapon damage
World of Warcraft Europe -> Talents
I realise that it is not blizzard's intention for fury to remain a 1h spec, but I like to swim against the tide :P

You'd likely be below Arms and maybe even Prot with such a build.
You would need to assume enough expertise from gear to drop a point from Weapon Mastery.
You lose imp WW's damage bonus as well as 4% damage modifier from maxing Unending Fury.
Like it or not, Fury these days means two 2handed weapons. The stats you gain from each weapon along with the damage from both pretty much means it's going to be superior than any builds with 1handers.
If you were really set on DWing 1handers, you could opt for a Prot/Fury build or a DW Arms build. but those will still be below TG Fury in damage output.

A previous poster suggested macroing a cast sequence with Heroic Strike, e.g.:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=0.2 Heroic Strike, Heroic Throw
This way you should only delay your swing timer by at most .2 sec. Of course on fights where you move out of melee every so often it's best used during those transitions.

I find myself having a bit of trouble catching all of my Slam! procs since the patch, I either end up missing them or tunnel visioning it and not paying nearly enough attention to what's going on with the actual encounter. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good addon to keep track of this?

I'm currently using EventAlert, it will pop up an icon and play a sound. I prefer the moo for fond diablo 2 memories.

I like it as a work around but I think good timing from watching a swing timer will be better with practice. In that macro your tieing herioc throw to heroic strike a little closer then I'd like and you still have to keep in mind clipping a BT/SLAM/WW GCD by using heroic throw.

If you are running SCT you can add the Slam! buff as a custom event, I use that and keep track of the duration with ClassTimer.

PowerAuras, I have been using it for AGES on my mage, so I just naturally started using it to track events on my warrior.

You can do it with Elkano's Buff bars very easily. You can make a completely unique track just for Slam!. It's what I do.

I'm not entirely sold on the Bloodsurge change being a buff at all. From my Patchwerk kill last night, I got 11 Slam! buff gains in the entire fight vs 12 BT crits. The other warrior had similar results, 12 Slam! buff gains vs 13 BT crits. It's entirely possible that we missed a few when they refreshed, but I did have a few 10-15s streaks of no procs at all with 100% HS + BT + WW.
My rotation was the same as pre-patch (WW > BT > Slam procs, WW > Execute sub-20%). Not sure what Excession was doing (apart from winning the RNG battle).
Parse: Patchwerk
Edit - Slam! procs from the log. Yamaki:
11 SPELL_AURA_APPLIED
1 SPELL_AURA_REFRESH
11 SPELL_AURA_REMOVED
Excession:
12 SPELL_AURA_APPLIED
2 SPELL_AURA_REFRESH
11 SPELL_AURA_REMOVED

New Slam! is a pain to babysit but it can be randomly very very powerful when the RNG is on your side.
It seems like we're #1 dps again. Nobody seems to have the power to compete with fury warriors atm!

Just looking at your WWS you got 22 bloodthirst crits, but only 17 slam! procs.
and it still does about the same % of total damage as it did before. i know the
math will say you should get more dps out of it, but just look at recount and
WWS. if anything it does less dps and is a hell of a pain to keep track of.
just my two cents.

Yeah for someone with 50%+ crit it can wind up being similar damage, but it's a buff for anyone under those numbers. And even over 50% crit, the math is still leaning towards a buff.
You'll need a dedicated addon with sound to keep track of procs though.

I am more and more convinced that change to bloodsurge isn't buff at all in the long run. Of course it depends on itemization in Ulduar (and further) but looking at what crit rate can be achieved currently I'm not sold to bloodsurge to be honest. Maybe crit rate wont jump sky hight in T8 and my concerns are totally pointless, maybe haste will become good again and gear will have haste on every piece, who knows.

Just from my own WWS that I linked last page from the entire run.
Bloodthirst:
611 Total
339 Hits (55%)
265 Crits (43%)
11 Misses (1.5%)
Bloodsurge (Slam!):
379 Total
304 Which I managed to use
80% Slam Usage Rate
This is a buff, straight-up. I would have had nearly 143% more Slams than previously available. I'm certain no warrior is at 62% crit raid buffed (remember the -crit penalty too!). I highly doubt that we'll even get there raid buffed in Ulduar (especially when crit becomes devalued when the Deep Wound nerf rolls around anyways).

What you should check for is actual slams used, because obviously a lot of the Slam! procs are being wasted.

Trash is trash, really no need to include that data. Just from this sample of bosses you can see how the new way out performs the old way in terms of giving you more chances to fill a global, but I still don't like the RNG aspect of when the proc happens. They would have accomplished the same thing with slam! procing off BT crits and WW MH crits allowing you to use slams for the globals in between without having to worry about excess rage bleed off being detrimental with heroic strike.

I personally like the new rotation: Its something other than sitting back seat in a raid and just doing bt bt ww over and over. New slam seems very rng though. From my 10 man last night it seems like I'm slamming more often. I was offtanking for patch and it was 8 man run so can't really provide a good wws.
On a side note: I Seemed to get very high deep wound ticks in execute range yesterday though a 12.3k tick on loatheb without mangle. Will hopefully be able to test bloodsurge better in my 25 man tonight.
I also ran some tests with berserker in the offhand on a dummy and to come anywhere near to 35% uptime I had to have windfury totem: and this is with 296 hit rating and around 5% self buffed haste (obviously i also had goat hit aura). Even with windfury totem I only had 28% uptime after a 2 hour test. I would say that Massacre is certainly better in the offhand due to this:
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/8...9141643wj0.jpg
Test was simply whirlwinds and whites (wanted confirmation that it didnt proc with offhand whirlwinds) was with my current armory gear with betrayer in the offhand (this was pre 3.0.8 and i was using bladed steelboots and not melancholy sabatons due to hit rating) and with an enhance shaman to provide windfury. Trinkets like meteorite whetstone will increase the uptime of this buff as it is simply a % on hit. I suppose if you have enough hit/haste then berserker would work out better than massacre in the offhand but even then you need rng on your side. The other buffs on that screenshot are Grim toll, Torment of the weak (mirror), Spirits of the lost (t7 bonus), bloodsurge (from my 1 bloodthirst i did), Flurry (thought it best to show this was only at 80% uptime whereas it would be up a larger % of the time in raids but i dont think it could make up enough of a difference and it wouldn't be up 100% of the time necessarily in raids) and deep wounds but that was simply for my benefit.
Main hand uptime seems around 2.3 ppm so with an average on around 50-60% uptime. Berserker is very dependent on windfury/improved icy talons being available (and i suppose swift retribution aswell) It increased my uptime by approximately 8% alone.
I don't know if the patch affected berserker proc, however I presume it didn't.

For me the new Bloodsurge was a loss of DPS in last Naxx clear. 175 BT crits (with the regular 50% crit) and 169 slams used and some of them forced me to delay BT or WW, when after BT crit the rotation was pristinely perfect. It also means I can forget about trying to rend since I cant predict a GCD free period.
What pleased me is the new Cleave Glyph. Past week Cleave was 8% on my dmg done to trash and 16% this week. On trash I was usually 5th after Hunters and DKs and I was first on total dmg done this clear. The other fury warrior had similar results. And I didn't notice a huge difference in being able to HS without the HS glyph. It might not be an increase against Bosses but I like the improvement in AoE power just for the loss of 10 rage on HS crits.

Your using the 3 target cleave over 5 rage per 5? (at 44ish% crit char window, 38% accord to stasis - Patchwerk : Glutfive), my cycles are pretty weak especially last night, im sure people use HS more than me and also have higher crit. Trash is 'worthless' in my opinion and in my case the raid has usually cleared to the next boss by the time I update DKP anyway!
