About Awesome Grats
We formed shortly after the launch of the Burning Crusade, and performed pretty well in the level 70 raid content, clearing up to Brutallus pre-nerf, and killing Kil'jaeden before the launch of Wrath of the Lich King. In WLK we cleared most of the content, getting to 11/12 Heroic 25 bosses in ICC - unfortunately our raid force wasn't big enough by the end of the expansion to be able to kill the Lich King.
We have a friendly and fun atmosphere in the guild, and try to have regular guild meetings - most often in the UK but we have been known to visit Belgium, Sweden, Paris and Denmark... we'll basically turn up wherever a floor and some beer are offered. We're not proud.
Our Raiding
We believe in putting in the effort required to progress while still having fun. We want to continue being a 25 man raiding guild in Cataclysm - we just don't think that 10 man raiding can offer the same experience as 25. Our raiding schedule is reasonably light, raiding only 3 days per week when content is available. Our raid days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with invites beginning at 19:30 and the raid finishing at 00:00. We have so far operated a DKP system tweaked to suit us (based on an hourly sum plus boss kill bonuses, depreciating depending how often the boss has died and whether achievements were completed), but we're looking to implement a loot council in Cataclysm. We are usually in the top 2-3 horde guilds on Bloodhoof.
About You
You should be enthusiastic and preferably have a sense of humour capable of dealing with very strange people. We're looking for motivated members who don't mind wiping repeatedly while working on new content, and are always prepared for raiding in terms of consumables and maxing your character to the best of your abilities. It's very easy to tell how dedicated someone is by checking their armory; be prepared to have your reputations/gems/professions torn apart if they're not up to scratch. We have a couple of required addons, and also make use of Ventrilo in raids. We would expect you to be able to raid at least 2 of our raiding nights; 3 is infinitely preferable.
While we don't have an age restriction, we do expect a certain level of (im)maturity. Oh, and being able to get served in pubs is a definite plus.
What are we currently recruiting?
We've lost a fair number of raiders in the last few months, with some leaving the game and others leaving to join or form 10 man guilds. As a guild we wish to continue with 25 man raids, and are therefore looking for most classes to bolster our raid force and get us back in the game by Christmas.
