Actually that's not even very far fetched. Scorpids can push out numbers like 600dps and i'm sure you could autoshot for 275dps :) Might even test that on fights like Morogrim sometime.

There's a more recent damage meter addon called "ReCount" that seems to be quite ok and merges automatically (even tho it shows the pet as a separate entity, it still merges it).

One trick is to use an ability that isnt related to the encounter to mark the start and end of the encounter and then dig the data between manually.
I find it strange that there isn't a mod (afaik)...
